History
of Studio
The
physical location of the studio is at
Wise and Salem Roads intersection in
Schaumburg. The studio takes up most of
the first floor of the building and the
address is 534 W. Wise Rd.
(1/2 mile west of Roselle Rd.),
Schaumburg. It was originally laid out as
a Ballet, Tap and Jazz Studio for
children with three interconnecting
Studios, and office lounges. It became a
fully functional Ballroom Dance studio
for Adults as a Fred Astaire Studio in
1993. Then in 1995 Hugh McGarvey, a
former Fred Astaire Dance Director bought
the studio and has been managing it till
the present as a Director.

Hugh
McGarvey was the Dance Director
for the Fred Astaire Chicago Loop
Head quarters Studio in the
1960's and 70's. He completed his
training in American and
International Ballroom Dance
under the coaching of John Monte,
the Fred Astaire National Dance
Director. John was one of the
first teachers to be trained by
Fred himself when they opened the

Studio
Events
The
Studio provides Dance Practice Parties,
Bi-Weekly Saturday Night Dances, seasonal
dance parties like Halloween, Christmas,
St Patrick's day etc. There are also
Quarterly Showcase, Exhibition &
Dinner Dances. There are also clubs
linked to the studio that have their own
parties and dances like the Champagne
Club Dinner Dance, the Dance Time Club
Parties which takes members and guests
out to the Ballrooms, Hotel Dance Band
Balls, Night Clubs and Special Event
Dances at Country Clubs, Navy Pier,
Cruise Ships etc.

Teachers are trained in all major dances
with an emphasis on American Style
ballroom including foxtrot, waltz, tango,
